Perspectives on Human-Computer Interactions – A Multidisciplinary Approach
Perspectives on Human-Computer Interactions – A Multidisciplinary Approach
Although most people see the computer as a common artifact, many myths still surround its use as a tool for learning and communication.
Information technology has developed more swiftly than most human beings were able to anticipate a few years ago. The perspectives on Human-Computer Interactions presented in this book can be regarded as a contribution to the ongoing discourse on the role of ICT in reshaping the nature of human relations and interactions.
The authors in this book constitute an international panel of researchers and university teachers from Sweden, Australia and the United States. They were brought together by a common interest in scrutinizing information technology from a constructive but, also, critical point of view. The ideas and critical analyses suggested in this book may hopefully contribute to enhancing teachers’ and students’ awareness of the fact that information technology as an issue is so important that it should not be left solely in the hands of the specialist.
The book is intended to give students and teachers at college and university level interdisciplinary perspectives on the new information technology and on its application, primarily in the fields of learning and communicating.
